Common questions

Do I need an account?

Not for your own diary. Open the app and start writing. You only sign in, with Apple, to share a diary or collection, or to join one that someone shared with you.

Where is my diary stored?

On your iPhone, and in your own iCloud. Your private diary does not go through our servers, so we cannot read it. Only a diary you choose to share is stored on our servers, so the other people can see it.

I have a new iPhone, or I reinstalled the app.

Sign in to the same Apple Account, and make sure iCloud is on for Little Days (Settings, your name, iCloud, then Little Days). Open the app: your diary comes back from iCloud. A large diary with many photos and videos can take a while to download in the background.

How do I add a moment?

Open today's page and add to it: write a line, say it and have it written down, or take or pick a photo or short video. Each moment lands on the page in the order it happened, and you can change its time later.

How do I invite someone to a shared diary?
  1. Open the shared diary and choose to invite people.
  2. Send the link in any messaging app.
  3. Tapping the link opens the diary in Little Days. People who have not installed the app are taken to a page that points them to the App Store.

The people you invite join free. As the owner you can ask to approve each person, and choose who can add and who can only read.

What happens when my trial or subscription ends?

Little Days becomes read-only: you can still open, read, search and play everything, export your whole diary, and delete anything. You just can't add or edit moments until you subscribe again. Nothing is deleted from your iPhone or your iCloud because of billing.

How do I restore my purchase?

Make sure your iPhone is signed in to the same Apple Account you used to subscribe. Then open the plan screen in the app and tap Restore Purchases.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by Apple:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and tap your name.
  2. Tap Subscriptions, then Little Days.
  3. Tap Cancel Subscription.

Or go to apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. To avoid being charged after a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription. For refunds, use reportaproblem.apple.com.

Can I take my diary with me?

Yes. Settings has an export of your full archive. It works whether or not you have a subscription.

How do I delete my data or my account?

Open Settings in the app. You can delete moments or your whole diary, and you can delete your account. Deleting your account deletes the shared diaries you own and removes your name, handle and picture; moments you wrote in other people's diaries stay there as "Deleted account" unless you delete them first.

Deleting your data doesn't cancel a subscription. See the answer above. The privacy policy has the details.
